You Only Saw One Moment

//

Hi, I'm Veronica, Scrachee's founder.

There's something I remember so clearly from those years.

The number of people who, with the best intentions, genuinely wanted to help.

"Have you tried this cream?"

"Just follow the pediatrician's instructions."

"I'm sure they'll outgrow it."

"I know someone who tried this, and it worked for them."

I know none of those comments came from a bad place. People wanted to help. But there were days when hearing those suggestions broke my heart a little more.

Not because they were wrong.

But because I was already doing everything I possibly could.

I spent hours researching.

I barely slept.

I tried different things.

I read studies.

I searched for answers.

And still...

My son was suffering.

I remember someone once saying,

"It's not that bad."

That sentence stayed with me.

Because all I could think was,

"You're only seeing this moment."

You didn't see the night before.

You didn't hear him scratching until he bled.

You didn't see the hours we spent trying to calm his skin.

You didn't see the tears after he had finally fallen asleep.

You didn't see the fear.

You didn't see the exhaustion.

And that's when I realized something.

People can only support you based on what they're able to see.

But you're living a story that almost no one else fully understands.

So if you've ever felt like no one truly understands what your family is going through, I want you to know something.

I see you.

I know how exhausting it can be.

I know what it feels like to give everything you have and still wonder if it's enough.

I know how badly you wish you could trade places with your child just to take their discomfort away.

And I know something else too.

All of the quiet things you do every single day...

Matter.

Even if no one notices.

Even if no one understands.

They matter.

With love,

Veronica
