When Eczema Takes Over Everything

//

Hi, I’m Veronica, founder of Scrachee.

There was a time when my son’s eczema consumed every part of my day. I was living in survival mode, although I didn’t realize it until much later. Looking back now, I can see how every decision felt urgent, like it carried the weight of his healing.

Every meal mattered. Every product. Every ingredient. Every flare-up. Every sleepless night. My mind never stopped searching for answers. What am I doing wrong? What did I miss? What else can I try?

Without realizing it, I was living in a constant state of fight or flight. It felt like if I could just find the right answer, everything would finally get better. And honestly, that kind of pressure is exhausting.

Because when your child is suffering, you would do absolutely anything to bring them even the smallest bit of relief.

There’s something I wish I had understood much sooner.

Healing doesn’t only happen when everything is perfect.

Healing can happen in the middle ground. In routines you can actually stick with. In small changes made with intention. In the days when you simply do the best you can, even if it doesn’t feel perfect.

For a long time, I believed I had to find the answer. The perfect routine. The perfect plan. The perfect solution. But over time, I realized that kind of perfection doesn’t exist.

What does exist is consistency.

Continuing to learn.

Continuing to adjust.

Continuing to listen to your child.

And continuing to move forward, even when healing isn’t linear.

If you’re carrying the weight of your child’s eczema on your shoulders today, I want to remind you of something.

You don’t have to do everything perfectly to be doing a great job.

Your child doesn’t need a perfect mom.

They need a mom who keeps showing up.

And if you’re reading this today, I already know that’s you.

With love,

Veronica
