Holistic Approach to Treating Eczema: First Steps for Relief

Holistic Approach to Treating Eczema: First Steps for Relief

When I first started finding information on natural eczema relief I was a little skeptical. In my family what a doctor said was sacred. I grew up hearing phrases like "doctors are the ones who know" or "if the doctor told you so, you have to listen to him".

Getting all those beliefs out of my head was a process, I understood that doctors don't know everything and that they are not always right or have the answers to what we are looking for. Doctors help us a lot to take care of our health but we also have to question them and have our own criteria.

By questioning doctors I was able to relieve my son's eczema and stop him from suffering from his eczema.

Here are my tips to start relieving eczema with a holistic approach

Eliminate trans fats, sugar and gluten 🍞

Nutrition is crucial in relieving eczema, health from the inside reflects on the outside. Having an anti-inflammatory diet is best, but by eliminating these three ingredients from your life you will see results.

Keep an eczema diary 💻

Use a notebook or your laptop for that, you will write down everything you eat and do, so you will begin to identify triggers. Once you identify them, you have to avoid them.

Reduce stress 🧘🏽‍♀️

There are infinite problems that stress causes to our health, including the health of our skin. Practice meditation, do exercises such as pilates or yoga.

Natural remedies 🏞️

Use natural remedies that can help soothe the symptoms, for example: oatmeal or dead sea salt baths, apply coconut oil, wet wrap, aloe vera gel, etc.

Last but not least, stop using topical steroids; instead, use skin-friendly creams that you can use as often as you want to soothe the skin without damaging it such as our Soaked Cream, Gold Up Oil and Sleekly Balm.
