Exercising with Eczema: 5 Tips to Keep Your Skin Healthy

Exercising with Eczema: 5 Tips to Keep Your Skin Healthy

Do you notice your eczema flares up every time you exercise? It happens to many people, factors such as sweat, rubbing or even hygiene in some gyms may be damaging eczema skin but...

Don't let eczema be an excuse to skip exercising!

Having eczema doesn't mean you can't exercise, move your body is essential for our health, especially if you have eczemaThe benefits of exercise are countless: improve cardiovascular health, reduce stress, improve sleep, enhances immune function, boosts self-esteem and confidence, etc.

Start today to move your body, go for a walk in a park, run, bike, dance, do yoga at home or do a sport that you like.

If exercising is not your thing, great options to start moving your body without eczema flares would be yoga or pilates at home, I recommend this Youtube channel where you will find hundreds of routines, from beginners to advance.

If your skin is not at its best right now, I recommend you not to go to gyms, as the hygiene there might not be as good, if you choose to go, make sure you clean the exercise machines you will use

Other recommendations you should consider 😎💪🏽

  • Choose exercises that do not generate a lot of friction on the skin.
  • Wear clothing made from natural fibers, such as cotton.
  • Stay in a cool environment where you do not sweat excessively, as sweat can be irritating.
  • Hydrate well before, during and after your workouts.

Exercising should not be an option in your life (unless your health condition does not allow it), it should be part of your self-care and self-love routine.
